Many marketing experts say that e-mail marketing is dead– but this may not be the case.  Here are a few of the benefits of e-mail marketing.

E-mail Marketing Is Alive and Kicking

Many websites do most of their marketing through e-mail –the question is “WHY?”. The answer is this- a great majority of people around the globe have e-mail addresses, making e-mail marketing a good way to advertise your business. Through this marketing strategy, you will reach a greater number of individuals and groups to tell them what you offer.

If you want proof on this one, you should take a look at the research conducted by DMA, or Direct Marketing Association. According to them, e-mail marketing generated a return of investment of around $44 for every $1 spent by a company in the year 2009. The expected figure for this year is $42, outperforming any other type of direct marketing.

It is not only the Direct Marketing Association that has these numbers. According to the Ad Effective Survey done by Forbes Media in March 2009, e-mail marketing is one of the most-effective ways to generate conversions, along with SEO article marketing. In addition, a December 2009 Silverpop survey conducted among 300 e-mail marketers, particpants reported that they did not have to increase their e-mail marketing budget to reach an audience even if 2009’s economy affecting them negatively. This means that they did not have to spend more to get conversions.

In Ireland, many business-owners say that e-mail marketing is one of the most important marketing strategies available. Shop.Org also says the same thing about e-mail marketing and according to them; the marketing strategy is the most successful tactic in the realm of advertising. The list of companies and organizations doing surveys on marketing strategies goes on and this only proves one thing –e-mail marketing is one of the most effective ways to get clients or buyers.

E-mail is Personal

Sending an e-mail is a personal action– by doing your marketing through e-mail, you will have the chance of more people to get to know you and what you do on an intimate level. It also allows you to get a target population making direct sales easier to do. You will be building trust within your target population since they receive communication from you on a regular basis.

When it comes to sales, the main crux of e-mail marketing is that –the more people you reach, the more people will buy your products or avail of your services.
