Oh DVR. I thought I loved you more than life at first. You let me watch Oprah and Dr. Phil every day after I get home from work and you even sneak in a little Ellen or Judge Mathis if I ask nicely. Which is why DVR, this is going to be hard to say. You see, the very thing I love about you most is the thing that is keeping me from procrastinating more efficiently.

bethennyeverafter110228I was watching Bethenny Ever After on Bravo this morning and doing a great job at putting off stuff I should be doing. I was thinking about how this is the life, and I even took my dandy time going to get Chipotle for Harry and Sonic for me. But during Bethenny Ever After (she was trying on a bra and is somehow a 30G which should NEVER BE ALLOWED TO EXIST IN THE WILD) and then Efficient Kelsey said to Lazy Kelsey, “Hey you should go to Panera and look crazy talking into your Dragon Naturally Speaking Headset to write those e-book chapters. You can get a soda and refill it 4 times and even maybe eat a bag of chips.” Well the chips really tipped LK off because LK loves 2 things: 1. Procrastinating and 2. Eating, preferably delicious junk food like chips and Diet Pepsi. However because procrastinating comes before eating, my thoughts automatically went back to, “But I’m watching this episode of Bethenny Ever After and she’s trying on a bra and….I can’t really leave until after this episode is over…”

Well I think EK and DVR are in a secret love affair because I suddenly thought to myself, “Why don’t you just DVR the rest of the episode and watch it after you type a billionty pages?!”

Touché, EK, touché. So here I am, in Panera, chips already digesting and a Diet Pepsi by my side. I guess this is what you would call a compromise, because I am technically still procrastinating by writing this blog post yet I made the step of driving to Panera.

Next step? Putting on headset and talking to the computer for 2 hours so it can record my thoughts. Yippee!
