If I had to choose an activity for someone to do in hell, I would probably choose moving over websites (especially WordPress websites) from one hosting provider to the next. I’m currently helping a client move over (after their previous website developer wanted to charge $500/year for hosting for a site THAT WAS HOSTED ON GODADDY).
So I set up two years of hosting on his own GoDaddy account (for $10, saving him $900 right off the bat), and begin the process of getting the files. That was the part that now has me up past midnight, chatting with a slightly rude dude name Chad on support, telling me there’s nothing they can do.
I’m going to call it a night now, deciding that maybe it’s the wrong database .sql file. Hopefully tomorrow I will be more hopeful and won’t have to deal with any one else named Chad. They never follow through.
