Better late than never, right? So I went to SXSWi 2015 about a month ago, and it was much to take in, it feels like it was months ago.
Here’s all the recaps that Debbie and I did for Search Engine Journal for SXSWi sessions and keynotes:
- Gary Vaynerchuk and Jack Welch
- Buzzfeed Founder & CEO Jonah Peretti
- The Art and Science of Shareability
- Brian Grazer
- Daniel Pink
We also saw Jessica Alba and Biz Stone, among many, many others.
SXSWi Comedy
This was the first year I actually went to the free SXSW comedy shows that are included with our badge. The first night, we went to an improv show, which some faces I definitely recognized, like Adam Pally and Andrew Rannells.
Amazing improv comedy show with Horatio Sans, Adam Pally from Happy Endings, and so many other peeps! A photo posted by Kelsey Jones (@wonderwall7) on

We also went to another show at the same venue, but it was Bill Burr and a few other comedians.

How We Got Around During SXSWi 2015
I was lucky enough to get a ride through STI, which partners with auto manufacturers to let influences test drive cars and evaluate their experience. For SXSW, STI gave us a Mazda 3, which is zippy little sedan I really liked. My car in college was red, so I immediately liked our ride:
One of the best features of the Mazda 3 was the blind spot sensor. If you had your turn signal on and was trying to go into another lane, it would beep if there was someone in your blind spot or that you could potentially hit. I really loved this feature because I sometimes get distracted with figuring out where I need to go, especially in a new city.

Another option on this Mazda 3 I loved was the moon roof. Every time I’ve worked with STI, they’ve given me a car with a moon roof, and it reminds me every time that I need one in my next new car. It’s just a little thing that you don’t realize how much you’ll enjoy until you have it.
Overall, I had a great time at SXSWi, just like I have every year I’ve been (this was my 3rd year). I look forward to attending next year.
