My colleagues at Search Engine Journal, Murray Newlands and John Rampton, have just released a new ebook yesterday titled
“Performance Marketing for Professionals: An Introduction to Performance Marketing”. It is a great deal at $0.99 that includes PDF, Kindle, and epub versions (you can buy it now here).
I had a chance to review the book before its official launch, and there are some great points for marketers that are looking to get into performance marketing for the first time or complete newbies to interactive or affiliate marketing.
Here are some of my favorite excerpts:
Choosing what to promote:
If you are going to promote something, it helps if you know the product well and understand the consumer and their motivations for purchasing it.
On email marketing:
When people ask about making money with Email marketing, I have one simple answer, which is, send people what they want to receive.
On SEO and Content:
Create pages of content about the things that people are looking for and will be compelled to share on social media. Use terms that people actively search for on either search engines or social media as the page titles.
On competitive intelligence:
You only know what you know—competitive intelligence can provide information that you don’t have.
On remarketing:
Segregate your customers from potential customers with different remarketing campaigns. If you can dive down deeper than that, do it!
These are just some of the pieces of wisdom that you’ll get from John and Murray’s book. At $0.99, the price is hard to beat. If you want no nonsense, introductory advice to internet marketing, be sure to check it out!
