How much time are you spending on Instagram? We’d be willing to guess it’s more than you think. But is all that time paying off? How much engagement and interaction are you seeing on your accounts? If it’s not as much as you’d like, we’ve got some foolproof ideas.

Before you waste any more time on non-value-adding activities, give some of our ideas a try:

Post Daily IG Stories

If you’re not posting a daily IG story, it’s time. This is a great way to stay top of mind in your followers without spamming your IG feed. Give yourself 24 hours to find something insta-worthy to post. Not only will this help engagement but you’ll find yourself looking for more and more creative ways to get the attention of your followers.

Swipe Up

People like to participate if it’s easy. How many times have you actually dialed a number to vote for your favorite Dancing with the Stars couple? But if you could swipe-up to vote on IG stories, you just might. Consider the ease for your followers to interact and watch the engagement flow in.

Ask Questions

They say there is no such thing as a stupid question so what are you waiting for? Ask your followers what content they want to see from you. Ask them what they think about the latest industry news. Ask them whatever you want, just make sure you ask! Now that followers can ask questions anonymously, they’re way more likely to do so.

Post Polls

What’s easier than swiping up? Tapping once! And that’s all that it takes to vote in a poll on Instagram. Seriously, simple questions here are fine. Bored at your desk? Ask your followers to vote on which Spotify playlist is best for you to crank out work to. Just don’t blame us when you get bombarded with responses!

Engage with Others

It’s so easy to focus on your numbers and nothing else but remember how important it is to be “social” on social media. It’s a two-way street so if you want people to engage with you, it may take some engaging of your own. Not only are you spreading positive karma but you’re also doing research. Without realizing it, you’re learning how other people are catching your eye so you can in-turn borrow some best practices.

Follow Important Hashtags

Stay up-to-date on all the latest and greatest by following important hashtags. It’s an easy way to find new people to engage with while staying in the loop!
